Actor Nicholas Braun, 32, is shooting his shot at Kim Kardashian, 40, only days after she filed for divorce.

The reality star filed for divorce from Kanye West on Friday, February 19.

On Monday, Feb 22, Nicholas shared a nearly three-minute-long Instagram video.

In his post’s caption, he tagged Kim Kardashian and explained to her that "it’s all about meeting new people" after her split.

He said in the clip: "This Kim and Kanye divorce news is just bumming me out. God damn… It hurts to think about how they’re feeling and how she’s feeling.

"I mean, I’m wondering at this point, where do they even go from here? Where does she go… at this moment? ‘Cause she’s been through three marriages now and it’s like, are you willing to even take a shot on a new guy at this point? Would you be down to meet a new person, totally just kind of different guy? One who could, you know, make you laugh a little bit or make you feel small cause he’s so tall."

Braun added: "Or, you know, just a guy who’s reaching out, talking about her on the internet. A guy who makes a video like this and he’s just sort of, like, trying to find a way to talk to her because he doesn’t know anybody who knows her. So, he’s just sort of making a video that might possibly penetrate her — not the right word choice — but enter her sphere. And she might see him and go, ‘Hmm, this is kind of different. You know, this guy is odd but maybe in a good way.’ And he goes to himself, ‘Yeah, you’re right. There’s something real here and there’s something good. There’s a deep understanding between these two souls.’ "

Kim hasn't responded yet but some of Braun's famous friends have shared messages of support. Lili Reinhart advised him to "give her a little time" and "she’ll come around," while Anna Camp simply commented, "Yesssss."

The Minister of Health, Ehanire Osagie has said that Nigeria might soon exit the second wave of the Coronavirus disease.

Osagie who spoke at a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Monday February 22, said the country has been recording a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases.

The Minister also disclosed that the decreased positivity rate from sustained testing in states, is synonymous with global trends.

He said;

“This trend in reduction compares with global observations of seeming decline in COVID-19 cases, signifying that the second wave may be receding.

“On 21st of February 2021, 521 new infections and 8 deaths occurred in 20 states. The sustained testing in states has decreased positively rate.

“We are, however, not drawing conclusions yet and certainly not declaring victory, but rather watching developments as they unfold nationally and internationally, ready to make use of comparative advantages that may emerge.”

On the outbreak of the Ebola virus disease in Guinea, Osagie said the Nigerian government is closely monitoring the situation and also collaborating with the West African Health Organization (WAHO).

He added;

“Nigeria is closely observing developments on the outbreak of Ebola virus disease in Guinea and working with West African Health Organization (WAHO) to contain it in the outbreak country of Guinea and prevent the spread to other countries in the region.

“We are pleased to note that the ECOWAS countries adjacent to the epicenter are taking strict measures with regard checking movement of persons."

The Minister stated that though Nigeria has been classified as a moderate Ebola risk country because of its distance from Guinea, Port Health Service officers have been on high alert to step up border surveillance of travellers arriving by air or overland from destinations around the outbreak country  to avert disease importation.

"We had to get 15 different city agencies to agree to this," Joy said, according to the newspaper.

US President Joe Biden set to announce sanctions on Russia over poisoning and jailing of Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny

US President Joe Biden is reportedly set to issue sanctions on Russia over the poisoning and jailing of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

According to Politico, the US is expected to coordinate with European allies a sanctions rollout against Russia in the coming weeks.

Sources told the news outlet that US sanctions on Russia would be the Biden administration's first major step in holding the country accountable for human rights abuses.

Details of the sanctions are yet to be revealed, but one source claimed that the US is 'considering available policy options'.

'We won't stand by idly in the face of these human rights abuses,' the official said.

Daniel Fried, who served as assistant secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the State Department, told Politico: 'I don't think we can stop [Russian President] Putin from sending Navalny to a penal colony. But by acting quickly now, at least it's in Putin's calculation that the US is willing to act.'

Sources also said that the Biden administration is also not starting from scratch on the Navalny issue, having received a comprehensive sanctions package from the previous administration, which was handed over during the transition process.

The insiders told the news site that the package proposed three types of sanctions: Magnitsky Act sanctions on the individuals who detained Navalny; sanctions under the Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act of 1991 (CBW Act); and sanctions under Executive Order 13382, which is “aimed at freezing the assets of proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their supporters,” according to the State Department.

This comes a day after European Union foreign ministers agreed to impose new sanctions against Russian officials linked to the jailing of Navalny, and expressed concern that the government in Moscow appears to see the 27-nation bloc as an adversary.

'We reached a political agreement to impose restrictive measures against those responsible for (Navalny's) arrest and sentencing and persecution,' EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said after chairing their meeting in Brussels.

Navalny, 44, was poisoned last August with the nerve agent Novichok, a lethal substance considered a banned chemical weapon by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. The Kremlin denied involvement, but the State Department publicly attributed the attack to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) in December.

After months of receiving treatment in Germany, Navalny recovered and flew home to Moscow, where he was arrested for breaking the terms of a probation agreement.

He later was sentenced to nearly three years in prison earlier this month, sparking massive protests across Russia and condemnation by the international community.

In the video below, Dayane Rafaella de Silva Rodrigues, 31, can be seen making her way into the building in Tiangua, Brazil, last Thursday, February 18. She then fires shots at the table where her husband and five other friends were sitting together with 26-year-old Djaiane Batista Barro.

Victim: Djaiane Batista Barros was shot dead

Rodrigues arrived on the back of a motorbike with another person before she walked into the bar to carry out the shooting.

A 24-year-old man also sustained a bullet wound and was taken to hospital where he is recovering after undergoing surgery on his arm

Security footage outside the bar also showed the suspect and her husband wrestling after the shooting, as he tries to remove the silver gun from her grasp.

It's not clear he retrived the gun from her, but Rodrigues was later seen walking away from the scene with her handbag.

She was arrested by police shortly after the shooting. Officers said the suspect carried out the shooting because she was 'angry' with her husband and had previously argued with him about going to such bars frequented by escorts.

Following her arrest, Rodrigues told officers that she fired the shots at random to 'disperse' her husband’s table and that she did not know victim Djaiane.

The suspect has no prior criminal record and is distressed by her actions, according to the police, who are investigating her for homicide and bodily injury.

Former US president, Barrack Obama reveals what he did to a former classmate who called him a racial slur

Former US President, Barrack Obama, has revealed what he did to a former classmate who called him a racial slur.

The 44th president shared in an episode of his Spotify podcast with Bruce Springsteen, "Renegades," that he broke a schoolmate's nose after the then-friend called him a racial slur during a locker room fight.

"Listen, when I was in school, I had a friend. We played basketball together," Obama told the "Born in the U.S.A." singer during a wide-ranging conversation on race.

"And one time we got into a fight and he called me a c---," Obama said about 13 minutes into the episode before quipping of his Aloha State upbringing to chuckles from Springsteen, "Now first of all, ain’t no c---s in Hawaii, right?"

"It’s one of those things that — where he might not even known what a c--- was — what he knew was, 'I can hurt you by saying this,'" Obama, 59, continued.

The country's first Black president added with a laugh, "And I remember I popped him in the face and broke his nose. And we were in the locker room."

"Well done," Springsteen remarked.

"I explained to him — I said, 'Don’t you ever call me something like that,'" Obama recalled.

Hurling racial slurs, he said, comes down to "an assertion of status over the other."

"'I may be poor. I may be ignorant. I may be mean. I may be ugly. I may not like myself. I may be unhappy. But you know what I’m not?'" Obama said to Springsteen. "'I’m not you.'"

"That basic psychology that then gets institutionalized is used to justify dehumanizing somebody, taking advantage of 'em, cheatin''em, stealin' from 'em, killin''em, raping 'em," said Obama.

"Whatever it is, at the end of the day it really comes down to that. And in some cases it’s as simple as, you know, 'I’m scared I’m insignificant and not important. And this thing is the thing that’s going to give me some importance.'"

Nigeria has highest number of poor people globally - Governor El-Rufai

Kaduna state Governor Nasir El Rufai has said that Nigeria has the highest number of poor people among the countries of the world.

Governor El-Rufai stated this while launching the State Social Protection Policy on Tuesday, February 23.

In his words

“Nigeria is going through trying times. We have the largest number of poor people than any country in the world. Yet, whenever a programme is designed to help the poor and vulnerable, we resort to a slot mentality in which important people are allocated slots instead of targeting those poor and vulnerable that deserve it. This is unfortunate. We must move away from slot mentality and use our social register to offer targeted support to those that truly need it.

I appeal to all my colleagues, the political elites to please drop this slot mentality and use the social register, so that, programmes targeting the vulnerable actually go to the poor and vulnerable. When we think of the poor and vulnerable, we must all remember that, the welfare of each one of us is bound up in the welfare of all of us.”

800 Ethiopians Killed After Defending ‘Ark Of The Covenant'

At least 800 people were reportedly killed in Ethiopia as worshippers and soldiers risked their lives to protect what Christians there say is the sacred Ark of the Covenant from local militia.

Ethiopian Christians claim the Ark — the wooden chest built to hold the Ten Commandments of Moses — is being kept safe in a chapel in the holy northern city of Axum in the Tigray region.

The battle between Ethiopian soldiers and rebel fighters happened in the fall, The Sunday Times reported, but it is only being reported now.

“When people heard the shooting they ran to the church to give support to the priests and others who were there protecting the ark,” Getu Mak, a local university lecturer, told The Times.

“Certainly some of them were killed for doing that.”

Little was known about the deadly siege since Tigray is cut off from the world and journalists had been blocked from entering the region.

A deacon residing in Axum told the Associated Press he helped count the bodies, gathered victims’ identification cards and assisted with burials in mass graves.

The battle between Ethiopian soldiers and rebel fighters resulted in at least 800 deaths.

He believes that an estimated 800 people were killed at the church and around the city.

“If you attack Axum, you attack first of all the identity of Orthodox Tigrayans but also of all Ethiopian Orthodox Christians,” Wolbert Smidt, an ethnohistorian who specializes in the region, told the AP.
